Two-Day Masterclass “Unesco and the Politics of Religious Heritage” 2023

Are you fascinated by the relationship between religion, politics, and heritage? Would you like to learn more about the role of UNESCO on these topics? Then join the two-day masterclass on “UNESCO and the Politics of Religious Heritage” on 25-26 May, 2023. The masterclass focuses on the power of religious heritage as a political tool that structures the relationship between state and religion in new ways. Participants will analyze specific cases from the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity to understand what happens to religious practices when they receive this kind of recognition. Participation is credited with 1 EC.
