ReMA students

If you are a student enrolled in a research master’s programme at an institution participating in NOSTER (check here), you can become a junior member of NOSTER. You need to ask the coordinator of your graduate school or research master’s programme to fill out the Membership Registration Form. If you don’t know who that is, please contact the NOSTER office. Once you have been registered at NOSTER, you can participate in all modules free of charge.

If you are a ReMA student who has already registered at another research school in the Humanities, you can participate in all NOSTER modules and only need to pay occasional catering and accommodation costs. You should fill out the Guest Registration Form.

If you are a ReMA student but you are unable or unwilling to become a junior member of NOSTER or any other research school in the Humanities, you can still participate in NOSTER modules. However, you must pay for separate modules (€50 per EC plus catering and accommodation costs). You too should fill out the Guest Registration Form.

MA students

If you are a MA student enrolled in a three-year master’s programme at institutions participating in NOSTER (check here), you can become a junior member of NOSTER if you follow a research track within your programme (with at least 45 EC for research modules and thesis writing). You need to ask the coordinator of your graduate school or master’s programme to fill out the Membership Registration Form. If you don’t know who that is, please contact the NOSTER office. By filling out this form, the institution agrees to pay a €500 membership fee. Once you have been registered as a member at NOSTER, you can participate in all modules free of charge.

PhD candidates

If you are a PhD candidate (promovendus/-a) or an external PhD candidate (buitenpromovendus/-a) at an institution participating in NOSTER (check here), you can become a junior member of NOSTER. You need to ask the coordinator of your graduate school or the director or coordinator of your research institute to fill out the Membership Registration Form. If you don’t know who that is, please contact the NOSTER office. The institution thereby agrees to pay a €1,000 membership fee for PhD candidates (promovendi/-ae) and a €500 membership fee for external PhD candidates (buitenpromovendi/-ae). After registration, regular PhD candidates are able to participate in all modules free of charge, whereas external PhD candidates can take courses for max. 10 EC (after reaching this limit, you must pay €50 per EC plus catering and accommodation costs for separate events).

If you are registered at another research school in the Humanities or if you are unable or unwilling to become a junior member of NOSTER or any other research school in the Humanities, you can still participate in NOSTER modules. However, you must pay for separate events (€50 per EC and catering and accommodation costs). You should fill out the Guest Registration Form.

Senior researchers

If you are a postdoctoral researcher or an assistant, associate, extraordinary or full professor working at an institution participating in NOSTER (check here), you can become a senior member of NOSTER. You need to ask the director or coordinator of your research institute to fill out the Membership Registration Form. If you don’t know who that is, please contact the NOSTER office. As a senior member of NOSTER, you can apply for several types of research funding and participate for free in events organised or sponsored by NOSTER.
