ReMA students

Students enrolled in a research master’s programme at an institution participating in NOSTER (check here) can become a junior member of NOSTER. They need to ask the coordinator of their graduate school or research master’s programme to fill out the Membership Registration Form. Once they have been registered at NOSTER, they can participate in all modules free of charge.

ReMA students who have already registered at another research school in the Humanities can participate in all NOSTER modules and only need to pay occasional catering and accommodation costs. They should fill out the Guest Registration Form.

ReMA students unable or unwilling to become a junior member of NOSTER or any other research school in the Humanities can still participate in NOSTER modules. However, they must pay for separate events (€50 per EC plus catering and accommodation costs). They too should fill out the Guest Registration Form.

MA students

MA students enrolled in a three-year master’s programme at institutions participating in NOSTER (check here) can become a junior member of NOSTER if they follow a research track within their programme (with at least 45 EC for research modules and thesis writing). They need to ask the coordinator of their graduate school or master’s programme to fill out the Membership Registration Form. The institution thereby agrees to pay a €500 membership fee. Once the student has been registered as a member at NOSTER, they can participate in all modules free of charge.

PhD candidates

PhD candidates (promovendi/-ae), including external PhD candidates (buitenpromovendi/-ae), at institutions participating in NOSTER (check here) can become a junior member of NOSTER. They need to ask the coordinator of their graduate school, the director or coordinator of their research institute or the executive secretary of their university to fill out the Membership Registration Form. The institution thereby agrees to pay a €1,000 membership fee for PhD candidates (promovendi/-ae) and a €500 membership fee for external PhD candidates (buitenpromovendi/-ae). After registration, regular PhD candidates are able to participate in all modules free of charge, whereas external PhD candidates can take courses for max. 10 EC (after reaching this limit, they must pay €50 per EC plus catering and accommodation costs for separate events).

PhD candidates registered at another research school in the Humanities can participate in NOSTER modules and need only pay occasional catering and accommodation costs. They should fill out the Guest Registration Form.

Senior researchers

Postdoctoral researchers and assistant, associate, extraordinary and full professors working at an institution participating in NOSTER (check here) can become a senior member of NOSTER. They need to ask the director or coordinator of their research institute to fill out the Membership Registration Form. Senior members of NOSTER can apply for several types of research funding and can participate for free in events organised or sponsored by NOSTER.
