NOSTER was officially established in 1995. To commemorate its twenty-fifth anniversary, NOSTER organises a conference (online) on 5-6 November. During this conference, NOSTER will launch a joint research programme on “Religion and the Crisis of Imagination.” On Thursday afternoon 5 November, the core team will present the programme, while on Friday morning the programme will be discussed in panels. At the end of the conference, we will launch the online portal Religienet.nl, which will offer an overview of all BA and MA programmes in theology and religious studies in the Netherlands as well as most researchers in our field and their expertise. The full conference programme (pdf) can be found here.
By facilitating the development of the research programme and by developing the portal Religienet, NOSTER responds to recommendations made by the KNAW foresight committee in its report Klaar om te wenden, which was published five years ago. Through both endeavours, NOSTER stimulates innovation and cooperation among researchers in our field while on the other hand making the expertise of our scholars and institutions visible to a broader audience.
Senior members of NOSTER can register for this conference (before 2 November). Junior members (PhD candidates) of NOSTER can either participate in this conference as part of the Grand Course (and get ECs) or participate in this conference only (without getting ECs), in which case they can register here (before 2 November). ReMA students can only participate in this conference as part of the Grand Course.
